Bloody Compromises and Sacrifices!!!

Compromises and Sacrifices are in the blood of Indians. Right from the start we were taught to compromise/sacrifice things so that everyone around you is happy. That's the typical Indian's mentality. Am not saying all of them are this way, but most of them are.

1) When you are elder one in family, you were taught to sacrifice the stuff which you love to your younger siblings. You have to be the mature one, coz you are elder.

They say-" Chota hai/choti hai, nasamaj hai but you are elder. You should understand". If you rebel you are evil.

2) when you say You like football/hockey/tennis/any other game, other than CRICKET!!

They say-
"pagla gaya hai launda...There is nothing like Cricket.
Cricket mein he career hai..
You dont have career in other sports".
When it comes to Cricket people go crazy.
There are very few people in India who love sports other than cricket.

3) When you are interested in Arts/Acting but you are forced to take Science and Engineering!

They say-
Dimaag theek tho hai
?What's wrong with you?? Everyone else among your friends are joining Engineering college and also Sherma ji ka beta/verma ji ki beti doctor ki parai kar rahi/raha hai..blah blah... Be like him/her :-/ Though the Sherma ji ka beta/ Verma ji's beti is a nice person, you end up treating him/her like a villain throughout your life.
In India first you do engineering and then you decide what to become. Indians freaking funda if you are not a doctor or a engineer then you are not a human being.

4) when you say you want to do love marriage.
This one is an ultimate one.

They say- " No one in our khandan did love marriage, pata nahi Kispe gaya/gayi hai...what about our reputation?. Log Kya kahenge..." etc etc...And Moms go like..

They force you to do arrange marriage. Sometimes they blackmail you of committing suicide. Indian parents BS logic.."don't talk to stranger but marry a stranger" :-/ uffff...

5) This is especially for girls, When they say they want to make a career after marriage.
They say- " Girls should look after house, kids, should cook, and be like agyakari bahu .. etc etc.."

In short they need a maid without asking salary. You can't even argue with them about the equality and rights of a girl!! They question you on your upbringing.

These 5 are the most famous ones you come across in your day to day life. But these days I do see a small change in people regarding the last point. Few of the women are finally out of the kitchen, making their careers and also taking care of their family.
But few things are still the same. Hoping for the people to change their mind sets in near future.

My advise to the readers, Be yourself!! Be Confident!! Do the right thing! Don't compromise or sacrifice things for the sake of others happiness so that you don't have to regret later.
